Why I love Mount Tom House

There’s something about Mount Tom House that feels different from the moment you arrive.

The house itself is full of character—charming, a little unexpected, and thoughtfully detailed. From the stained glass catching the light to the cozy library that feels like it was made for slow, quiet moments, every space has its own personality. Step outside, and you’re surrounded by gardens and open Oregon landscape that make it easy to settle in and stay awhile.

But what really sets this venue apart is the experience.

It doesn’t feel like a venue in the traditional sense—it feels like being invited into someone’s home. There’s a warmth to it, a level of care and hospitality that makes you and your guests feel genuinely welcomed, not just hosted.

Having the option to stay on-site for the weekend changes the pace of everything. Instead of rushing through a single day, there’s time to relax, connect, and actually enjoy the experience with your people. It turns a wedding into something that feels more like a gathering—easy, intentional, and fully lived in.

A Day That Felt Like Them

For their Mount Tom House wedding, Travis and Sally wanted something that reflected how they actually like to spend their time, outside and surrounded by nature with the people closest to them. Their vision was an elevated backyard gathering: thoughtful and refined, but still relaxed enough that everyone could settle in and enjoy the day.

Flowers were a big part of their vision. They LOVE flowers, and it showed. They prioritized sustainable, seasonal florals that felt organic and abundant rather than overly styled. It was the kind of design choice that worked perfectly for a wedding just outside of Eugene, where the landscape already brings so much to the table.

What made this Mount Tom House wedding feel especially personal were the details woven throughout the day. From the ice cream cart that quickly became a guest favorite, to the table decor that felt intentional without being fussy, everything added to the overall experience. And then there were the smaller, more unexpected touches, like the framed portraits of their cats in the bathrooms. It all came together in a way that felt genuine, welcoming, and joyful.
